William Clarence Campbell Sr. known as “WC” was born April 15,1933 in Marshall, TX to Lewis and Odie Roach Campbell. William was number nine of twelve siblings born to this union. William served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955.William’s military career allowed him to travel abroad. William was employed at Ryder Airline Services for 25 years where he retired on May 23,1998. After retirement, he went to work for Dallas County Schools where he was able to safely escort students to school. William was a strong advocate for education and etiquette. He taught his children and grandchildren the importance of family, friends and fellowship. He was an active member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, serving faithfully as an usher and member of the brotherhood. His commitment to his duties was unwavering. William was also a sports fan, devoted to the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, attending games with the family when he could. William married Cleo Hicks Campbell on December 12, 1959. They celebrated fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage loving each other until the end. William was the father of three daughters and three sons. William was preceded in death by his parents; Sisters: Lola Hall, Novella Williams, Annie Pippins, Justine Campbell, and Opal Campbell; Brothers: Leonard Campbell, Wendell Campbell and Tracy Campbell; Son: Michael Campbell. William leaves to cherish his memory: Wife, Cleo Hicks Campbell; Daughters: Janice Broughton, Audre Peel, Michelle Rider (Glen), and Denita Campbell; Sons: Anthony Fitzgerald (Debbie), Clarence Campbell (Betty); God- Daughter: Patricia Taylor; Siblings; Myra Joyce Campbell, Mary Sutphen, and Faye Spates; In-Laws; Ralph Hicks (Nelva), Paulin Hicks, Fannie Pruitt, Dessa Mae Green, and Bennie Lee Jackson Fourteen Grandchildren; Kerwin Hicks (Sherlyn), LaDonna Fuller (Darius), Constance Rosemond, Brandon Campbell, Shenequial Campbell, William Campbell III, Christopher Campbell, Joshua Campbell, Shamaria Campbell, Johnathan Bagsley, Clarissa Broughton, Leah Broughton, Markita Fitzgerald and Piyah Fitzgerald; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
